General Secretariat
Head: Susanna Grufman
The department consists of five divisions:
- The Communications Division
- The HR Division
- The International Secretariat
- The Legal Secretariat
- The Secretariat of the Executive Board
Susanna Grufman is Head of the department from 6 November 2023.
The General Secretariat is responsible for several of the Riksbank’s support and coordination processes. Its responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and preparing meetings of the Executive Board and the General Council, as well as coordinating audits and other interactions with the Parliamentary Committee on Finance.
- Coordinating the Riksbank’s operations and governance by leading the work of the bank’s management group and committees. The Chief of Staff is also responsible for internal crisis management.
- Leading strategic HR work and coordinating and supporting HR-related matters.
- Leading internal and external communication, both strategically and operationally.
- Providing legal support to the Executive Board and the General Council, and on strategic and policy-related issues.
- Strategically coordinating and prioritizing the Riksbank’s international activities including work related to international organisations and international knowledge exchange.
